Grades K-5 will have general music class once (sometimes twice a week)
Each grade has specific actions and content that will be focused on and learned. All information taught aligns with the NAfME(National Association for Music Education) Standards as well as the Michigan Core Standards. Students will learn information that will be presented in a variety of ways in order to reach all types of different learning style.

Some activities that students participate in include, but are not limited to: Understanding the Kodaly and Orff systematic approach to learning (xylophones/hand signs). Composition, Improvisation and Ensemble Skills.
Students will have the opportunity to participate in various activities that support the standards. Some activities involve using musical instruments throughout the room, as well as possible body percussion or movements.
